Library Dino Egg Project

The library's summer reading program was themed around dinosaurs this year. One of the projects they had was to make a dinosaur craft or draw a dino picture that can be displayed during the summer program. The best craft would win a special prize. The girls and I made reading dino eggs out of paper mache.

This is one of Lola's eggs reading "The Study of Ballet for Dinosaurs."

Here is Mommy's egg reading "The Life of a Readasaurus."

Sophie's egg is reading "The Mystery of the Missing Dinosaur Egg."

So can you tell what kind of books we like to read?

Here are the girls with their egg basket before they turned it in.
They wanted to take a picture of Mommy with her dino egg.

Indianapolis Indians Game - RAINOUT!!!

While waiting in line at Meijer I entered the girls names in a drawing to win tickets to an Indianapolis Indians Baseball game. About a week later, I get a phone call and Lola's name had been drawn. She won 4 tickets (great seats - 5th row back behind home plate), $25 in vouchers to spend at ball park, and she got to say "PLAY BALL" on the big screen to start the game. WOW! I had no idea what I was signing up for. Mommy made the girls some Indians shirts and we were off to the big game. Alas, it wasn't meant to be this day. We walked thru downtown in the pouring rain to get to the stadium and wait for an hour for the game to be called on account of weather. She did get to reschedule her big moment however. Those pictures will follow soon!

Waiting for the rain to stop.

Morse Beach

We went to the very small beach at Morse Reservoir. It was nice though, not crowded at all. The girls made all kinds of friends to play with and Mommy soaked up some rays.

Here they are sitting in the hole they dug.

Forest Park

We didn't go to Forest Park all that much (no monkey bars) but it was nice to mix things up a bit and go somewhere different. The girls really enjoyed playing in the sand.

The Top of the Slide

Lola had sand in her mouth in this picture.

She made Mommy's stomach do flips watching her spin and spin and spin.

Lola Learning to Ride on 2 Wheels

Lola wanted to try her bike without training wheels. We tried for a while before Daddy got home but Mommy's back was killing her from holding on and running up and down the sidewalk. So we tried again with Daddy's help. Soph decided to take pictures this attempt.

Here Daddy is explaining how its done.

The photographer gets photographed.

Billericay Park

Sophie was so proud this summer. She finally got the "hang" of the monkey bars!

One of our many fun days at the park!
